History

Doyle Court Reporters was founded in 1954 by Mr. James Doyle who was a journalist with the newspaper The Examiner and had a wealth of experience covering High Court actions since 1935. Mr. Padraig O Fearaíl was also a journalist and joined Mr. Doyle's agency in 1957. The agency provided transcripts of cases in the High Court and sometimes in the Central Criminal Court together with occasional public enquiries such as the KLM enquiry in 1954 and the Money Lending enquiry of 1970.

James Doyle died suddenly in 1970 and in turn, his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Doyle, found herself in control of the agency. In 1986, Padraig's wife, Mrs. Áine O'Farrell, took over the reins at a time when there were only three reporters attached to the agency.

Under Mrs. O'Farrell's guidance, the team has grown from three to eighteen and the diversity of activities has widened considerably. In 1992, Padraig and Áine's daughter, Aoife Ni Fhearghaíl, joined the agency and brought with her the technical knowledge to keep Doyle Court Reporters on the cutting-edge of technology.

The application of the company's work has expanded greatly to include realtime to many Government enquiries, both private and public, Plc. AGM's, disciplinary proceedings of professional bodies and the captioning (creating subtitles) of live television programmes. We can also provide full transcripts for private meetings, Árd Fheiseanna, Conferences and Company Presentations.
