Ronan Ó Fearaíl
Ronan Ó Fearaíl is the technical genius, who ensures the smooth and seamless provision of technology to Doyle Court Reporters’ offices and each venue it serves.
Ronan joined DCR in 2000, with wide-ranging experience from 15 years in broadcast engineering in Ireland and Australia. On arrival, he turned his innovative approach to the challenges of busy court schedules, a growing demand for electronic media in the courtroom and the need for readiness and rapid response in the expanding DCR international events business.
Ronan has developed several one-of-a-kind solutions to the complex challenges that emerge in a rapidly changing environment. These are solutions that required deep experience and a sharp technical awareness.
They included, firstly, digitising the entire production and archiving system, complete with clear reporter identification on every transcript, along with their graphical digital signature.
Secondly, creating a realtime system, which uses a thin, flat cable, to singularly carry writer and CaseView text and audio between the reporter and a live scopist. This neat, yet clever system also allows the use of existing standard CAT5 infrastructure, to discreetly and securely provide top class realtime stenography. In a world where security and confidentiality in digital media is at the top of the list of client priorities, Ronan has developed unique and robust solutions for client data protection that meet the highest standards of excellence.
He is also an NCRA Certified Legal Video Specialist, which is a requirement for US court depositions. DCR is, through Ronan, the only firm in Ireland certified to provide this service.
